The Lumenis LightSheer Desire is a state-of-the-art laser hair removal system that uses advanced diode laser technology to target and permanently reduce unwanted hair. During treatment, the laser emits a focused beam of light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle. This light energy is converted into heat, which disables the hair follicle’s ability to grow hair, without damaging the surrounding skin. The LightSheer DESIRE uses a larger spot size and vacuum-assisted technology, which allows for faster, more comfortable treatments, even on larger areas like the legs or back. It’s suitable for all skin types and works on both fine and coarse hair, providing a safe, effective, and long-lasting solution for unwanted hair.

DOES TREATMENT REQUIRE DOWNTIME? DOES IT HURT?

After treatment, you can return to your normal activities immediately, though you may experience slight redness or mild swelling at the treated area, which typically disappears within a few hours. As for pain, the LightSheer Desire is designed for comfort. The vacuum-assisted technology helps lift the skin to ensure a more comfortable treatment, and the advanced cooling system cools the skin as the laser works, minimizing discomfort. Most patients describe the sensation as a slight snapping or tingling, similar to a rubber band on the skin, but it is much more comfortable than older laser hair removal systems.*

WHAT SKIN TYPES CAN BE TREATED?

WHY DO I NEED MULTIPLE TREATMENTS?

Multiple treatments are required to achieve the best results because hair grows in different stages, and laser hair removal is most effective during the growth phase (anagen). At any given time, not all hair follicles are in this phase, so several sessions are needed to ensure all targeted follicles are treated effectively. With LightSheer Desire, most clients will see a significant reduction in hair growth after 4 to 6 sessions, spaced about 4–6 weeks apart, depending on the treatment area and hair type.
